Its time to review the latest trailers in sci-fi and keep or break our hopes for a bright future for cinema.

9 - Releasing on 9th September

Plot- The movie takes place in a future world where humans no longer exist. 9 is a ragdoll-like creature who must band together with others like him in order to save civilization from the machines that have taken over. The main character is voiced by Elijah Wood, with Crispin Glover, Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer, and John C. Reilly all contributing their vocal talents as well.

Shane Acker's '9' is adapted from his own Academy Award winning short animation film with the same title. When the whole animation world has turned towards kid-friendly cute and fuzzy films, its refreshingly endearing to find someone making use of CGI for something different. From the trailer it looks like an epic sci-fi adventure. 9 hits theatres on September 9th, 2009.

Outlander - Releases in the US on January 23rd, 2009. Playing currently in select countries.

Plot- As an age old battle rages amongst the stars, Kainan's ship burns brightly as it crashes into the Nordic coast. As his space craft comes to rest in the fjords of ancient Norway, it's with dismay that Kainan realizes that he wasn't the only survivor. A second passenger, a Moorwen also emerges from the wreckage. A Fierce and animal-like creature, the Moorwen is intent on causing harm to those it perceives have wronged it. As the Moorwen kills everything in its path, Kainan must work together with the Vikings to destroy the beast before it destroys them all.

The film has a sci-fi plot as well as an historical epic one. Those who have seen the movie are wondering why this film is a limited release. I'm gonna check this out as soon as possible. The Release dates are over at IMDB

Push - Releasing on 6th February

Plot - The action packed sci-fi thriller involves a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities, hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency. They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

While the other two have a high probability of turning out great, this one has a high probability of being a flop. The plot sounds interestingly close to Jumper. There is an agency out to get our heroes, and in Jumper it was Samuel L Jackson and here its Djimon Hounsou( gimme a break). But the trailer looks interesting but they always do. Anyways can't judge it till the film is released. I guess we will have to wait and see.
