For the final part of the series I decided to club two categories together and finished off the series.
Rock Remixes of Hip Hop songs are not uncommon, but good ones are rare. But there is a band called Purple Popcorn who specialize in this particular genre. I have to say they have a talent for it.I have featured one of their collaboration with Mims earlier in this series. Here is a few of their remixes( just search "purple popcorn" in YouTube for all of their remixes, or just got their MySpace page) 1. Purple Popcorn ft Chris Brown - Kiss Kiss remix This catchy single from Chris Brown was prime material for a Rock Remix and the Purple Popcorn did a great job with this adding catchy Guitar riffs and drums to the track at all the right places.
2. Purple Popcorn ft Lil Wayne - Lollipop remix I think this is one of their best remixes. The enormously catchy Lil Wayne song Lollipop just got that extra "Oomph" and it just works.
3. Purple Popcorn - Swagger like us remix Purple Popcorn has remixed the Grammy award winning track featuring a stellar list of artists. This is an OK remix because the success of the track is predominantly based upon the success of the original song. But it picks up the heat towards the middle and you will love the underlying guitar work by the time you finish the song.
I can't find this track anywhere, but their MySpace page. Head over there and show them some love. T.I's Live You Life, Rihanna's Disturbia and Usher's Love in this Club are their other remixes all of which can be listened to at their MySpace page.
Now moving on to the next category, we have the, for lack of a better word, Lil Wayne's Brand of Rock. Talk has been ripe about a rock album from Lil Wayne and it just got a 100% confirmed by the release of the music video for Prom queen the last day. This particular brand of rock has enough element of Hip Hop that it can be considered as a merger of the two genres.
1. Lil Wayne - Prom Queen Undoubtedly, the one that started it all. Lil Wayne's Prom Queen leaked on to the internet long before and been doing rounds collecting all kinds of opinions from "absolute crap" to "awesomeness". I for one is a guy who supports artists trying out something new. The first time I heard Prom Queen I was not a fan of it, but the track grew on me and now I love that track.
2. Kevin Rudolf ft Lil Wayne - Let it Rock This track released way back in July 2008 when Lil Wayne's talk of the Rock album was minimal. This is a great track, and for that matter the whole album from Kevin Rudolf is great and it features artists like Rick Ross and Nas in his Rock/Pop/Hip Hop album-a must have album.
3. Lil Wayne - Hot Revolver This is most probably another track off Rebirth- the rock album from Lil Wayne. This one features Kevin Rudolf again and in this one its Lil Wayne in the lead. This is not as catchy as Prom Queen but still it comes very close. Just got a bit too far with autotune that some parts are annoying. But on the whole very tasteful track.
4. Kat Deluna ft Lil Wayne- Unstoppable I heard the other day on Letterman that Lil Wayne apparently been learning guitar for the last two years or so he says. I checked out some of his live performances with the guitar and man he sucks. I can't understand how he claims he is playing the guitar on his songs. Anyways this song has the guitar pretty predominantly and has a very catchy rhythm. Lil Wayne or no Lil Wayne this has some pretty good guitar work.
P.S - This post got deleted and I have no idea how. Just recovered it from my feed and reposting.:). Made a little change too about Lil Wayne's guitar skills. I checked out some of his live performances with the guitar which totally changed my view. :D
Continuing with the series, its time for the Hip Hop songs which featured Rock artists for their Vocals. This is a category that has comparatively less number of songs. May be its not the common, or may be I just haven't come across wit yet. Anyways here goes the small list.
1. Bizzy Bone feat. Joel madden of Good Charlotte - I'm the One Bizzy Bone was an artist I haven't heard till this song. This song absolutely rocks and I was in love with Bizzy Bone until I checked out the rest of his songs :D . But this song is amazing and Joel Madden's vocals give the song another dimension. Somebody tell me how he raps so fast. I don't understand a single thing he is saying but I still love this track :D
2. Young Dre feat. Good Charlotte - Workin' This is a song off the soundtrack of Madden 09 - the EA Sports game. I guess Young Dre just used samples from Good Charlotte's song My Own Way, but the result is awesome. The song is ripe with melody and flow and Good Charlotte part and Young Dre part is awesome.
3. Fall Out Boy ft Travis,Gym Class Heros,Tyga, Kanye West,Paul Wall,Skin Head Rob,Lupe Fiasco , Lil Wayne- This Ain't a Scene, Its an Arms Race I know what you are thinking- Whoa thats a long list of featured artists. Exactly my first thought. This stellar list of artists did a great job in bringing out a remix that just works. The original song was great, the remix by Kanye West alone was even better and this just tops it all.
4. Three 6 Mafia ft Good Charlotte - My Own Way Another song that sampled Good Charlotte, wow. This song also has its backbone in Good Charlotte's sample. I felt Three 6 Mafia just rapped around it and made the song work big time. Even if you don't love Three Six Mafia the song is lovable because of Good Charlotte's verses.
I hope everybody enjoyed the first part of this series. Now in the second part I am going to list Hip Hop songs which have guitar riffs as the background. There are a lot of Hip Hop songs with Rock riffs and its hard to find them; but well worth the trouble cause these songs are almost every time off the charts.
1. Jay Z- 99 Problems Almost everybody knows this song but still it isn't fair not to include it in the list. I first heard the song in the collaboration with Linkin Park and got really interested and checked out the original version and loved that too.
2. Trick Daddy ft Lil jon, Twista- Let's Go The name Lil Jon always promises us something exciting and you are not wrong most of the time. Let's Go is very much "crunk" and the guitar riffs just add to the song.
3. Cypress Hill- Rock Superstar I've never been a fan of Cypress Hill but I do love an occasional song from them. One of those songs is Rock Superstar. This song got a great rock riff opening the song that you will be interested right from the start. The song is about being a Rockstar, the money, the fame and all those things. There is a song called Rap Superstar too. Basically the same song but with some differences in lyrics. While Rock Superstar was about the Rock Star, Rap Superstar is about the Hip Hop stars.
4. Shop Boyz ft Lil Jon- Party Like a Rock Star I honestly had'nt heard about the Shop Boyz before this song. Apparently they are a grammy nominated group whose debut album Rockstar Mentality didn't do that well. They are most widely known for their single Party Like a Rockstar.
5. Chamillionaire ft Lil Wayne- Rock Star If you are a fan of Chamillionaire or you saw the movie Never Back Down, you might have heard this amazing song. Chamillionaire is one of my favorite artists and he totally rocked this track. Talking about Rockstar, R.Kelly has a very good track called Rockstar as well.
6.Billy Cook - Roll With A Rockstar Finally a track I couldn't find in YouTube. I always wondered when that day will come. This is a pretty decent track with an amazing instrumental. I'm including this track solely cause of its instrumental.You can catch the instrumental at YouTube.
7. P.O.D- The Payback P.O.D or Payable On Death is basically a Rock band but with some strong Hip hop roots. They always tend to play on the edge of both the genres and is one of my "looked out for" artist. The Payback is from XXX 2 soundtrack( which as I said in the last part is awesome).
8. Hush - Fired Up and Rise Again I have heard only a couple of songs from Hush, but they all rocked. Fired Up is featured on Need For Speed: Most Wanted(the clean version). This song got such flow that I fell in love with it at first sight. Rise again is a comparatively new track, most probably from his new album. That also got a beautiful blend between Rock and Hip Hop. Fired Up
The other day when I was listening to Jay Z- Linkin Park collab- The Collision Course- I suddenly had a desire for more Hip Hop- Rock collabs and that led to me collecting and catching up on the mergers of those two genres. I came across a lot of tracks but had to reject many cause many were Old School Hip Hop and Death Metal combos (Judgment Night Soundtrack), both of which I'm not a big fan.
But still I came across many tracks that I came to love and its just impossible to post all of them in a single post. So I am starting a new series of posts. To start off I'm posting the actual collaborations of two or more artists from different genres uniting to bring out a single track. I'm not listing the obvious classics like Run DMC ft Aerosmith or Public Enemy and Anthrax, but I'm concentrating more on the new stuff. And I'm also not listing the collab between Jay Z and Linkin Park cause everybody knows that's the best one out there. So lets start the Hip hop/Rock extravaganza.
1. Ludacris ft Sum 41 - Get Back This is the remix of Ludacris' song Get Back, which I like more than the original one. Luda rapping on top of Sum 41's heavy guitar- a collab not to miss.
2. Wu-Tang Clan and System of a Down - Shame on a Nigga System of a Down performing Wu-Tang Clan's Shame on a Nigga in their style and featuring Wu-Tang. This one is more on the rock side to be precise System of a Down style. The name sounds racist, but trust me its not. And its a great song.
3. Non Phixion Feat. Steph Of The Deftones And Christian & Raymond Of Fear Factory - The CIA is Still Trying to Kill Me Non Phixion did a remix of their own song The C.I.A trying to kill me with Steph Of The Deftones And Christian & Raymond Of Fear Factory which is yet another amazing collab.
4. K'naan feat. Kirk Hammet of Metallica - If Rap Gets Jealous This is a really new song just over a month old and K'naan is a new artist for me. The song is really good and Kirk Hammet is awesome as ever. Look out for the awesome solo towards the end by Kirk Hammet.
5. Korn ft Xzibit - Fight the Power Korn paired up with Xzibit to being out this great song for the XX2 soundtrack. Great guitar riffs, drums and Xzibit rapping over it. Damn good. And since we are on the topic check out the whole XXX 2 soundtrack. The whole soundtrack is out of the world.
6. Bone Crusher feat Three Days Grace - Just like wylin Another one from the XXX 2 soundtrack in which Bone Crusher and Three Days grace came together with their songs "Wyle out" and "Just Like You" respectively(both individually great) and mashed it up into one great track.
7. Busta Rhymes featuring Ozzy Osbourne- This is war For all you classic rock fans out there here is a track for you. Busta Rhymes decided to rap over Ozzy Osbourne's classic "This is War". A perfect crossover track between Classic Rock and Hip Hop. I love both the original This is war and the remix. This is a comparatively lesser known collab but well worth the listen.
8. Mims ft Purple Popcorn - This is why I'm rock I guess everyone has heard the hit single from Mims "This is why I'm hot". This is the rock version of that song which even surpasses the original featuring Purple Popcorn. Purple Popcorn is an upcoming Rock/Hip hop band who does rock versions of popular Hip Hop songs. I'll do a feature on them soon enough in this series. While most others just include them doing the song,I think for this one Mims and Purple Popcorn actually got together and made this one.
9.Ice Cube ft Korn- Fuck Dying I guess "Children of Korn" is this duo's better known collab, but personally i like this one better. It got classic Ice Cube with his angry verses and Korn's guitars on the background. It gets a while for the song to start; be patient :D
10. Chris Cornell - Scream (Produced by Timbaland) I know this is not an actual collab between Hip Hop and Rock, but I just could not leave it aside. This is basically rock, but the Hip Hop element is Timbaland's production. The whole album Scream is Timbaland's production which in my opinion is awesome and from what i have heard so far its top notch work. Can't wait for the album to drop.

Asia Cruise ft Colby O'Donis - Run Away I haven't heard of Asia Cruise, but the name Colby O'Donis made me listen to the track and I loved it. I'll be looking forward to Asia Cruise now.
Play N Skillz Ft Akon - Angel Eyes A new track from Play N Skillz featuring Akon hit the shelves on youtube. Take a look and dicover a new artist.(Although most of what you hear might me Akon's work)
Mams Taylor Feat. Bobby Valentino & Snoop Dogg - Girl Gotta Girlfriend Mams Taylor too is a new name for me but the name Snoop Dogg was enough to make me listen to it. A nice blend of dance beats, R&B and good old Snoop Dogg makes this a pretty good track.
While you are at it check out the new songs by Chris Cornell from his new album Scream produced by Timbaland. After making his presence felt in all areas of rock he is now venturing into R&B. Way to get that creative juices flowing. Just one of many I'm embedding here
Lil Jon ft The Game and Ice Cube - Killas I hope everyone remember Lil Jon, the guy who promised a Crunk Rock album years ago. Guess what, Crunk Rock" is not dead, apparently. A new track, supposedly off the album, released on YouTube. Can't say its a great track, but glad to know that Lil Jon still got it. Edit:- On second thought, or after many more hearings, the song rocks.. They sound so angry..
Lil Wayne - Prom Queen Since Kanye West started singing(which was good) Lil Wayne gotta do something to change it up a bit and he turned to Rock. Reports are that his upcoming album Rebirth is going to be a rock album and Prom Queen is the first single off it which must be available on MySpace by now. Youtube has a live version that I'm embedding here. The others have some guy shouting something all throughout ruining the song. The song is below average,if you ask me. Leave the rock to those who know to Rock and stick with Hip Hop Lil Wayne. Unless there is something more good than this one on the album I'm gonna pass. Edit: The song grew on me and now I love the song and am kinda looking forward to his new album.
Soulja Boy Tell 'Em ft Sammie - Kiss me through the phone Soulja Boy is back after his phenomenal hit "Crank That" (although I don't think it deserved that much success) with "Kiss me through the phone" which is just as addictive as Crank That. Personally I like it even better than Crank That.
Novel - Mad World We have all been shaken up by the disturbing events on New Year's Eve which resulted in the death of an innocent civilian Oscar Grant. Novel released a beautiful song as a dedication to Oscar Grant. R.I.P Oscar Grant. Its a great song and a must listen.
Bobby Valentino, Ludacris, Lil' Kim, Lil' Wayne, Yung Joc, Fabolous - Beep Beep (Official Remix) Thats a long list of great artists right?. An official remix of the popular song Beep Beep released featuring a lot of big names. I wasn't so sure about the original version but this one is so good. Ludacris made the track for me.
Kat Deluna ft Lil Wayne - Unstoppable I didn't know who Kat Deluna was until I stumbled across this beautiful track featuring Lil Wayne. The song is the first single off her sophomore album "Inside Out".
Linkin Park - Lockjaw and Qwerty Linkin Park, the alternative rock heroes are in the studios working on a new concept album which they describes in cryptic snack metaphors to MTV as "In terms of describing what it sounds like ... it sounds like peanut butter and jelly," frontman Chester Bennington said. "It's sounding delicious." Two new tracks are up in YouTube from Linkin Park and they sound pretty good. There is no official confirmation or release of singles as far as I know. These may be most probably demos they made, but it sounds enticing. Lockjaw- an instrumental track

Apocalyptica feat Three Days Grace's Adam Gontier - I don't care I was looking for new stuff from Three Days Grace( who is by the way the best Rock band out there) and I found a great track, a new single from Apocalyptica featuring Adam Gontier from Three Days Grace. He has really good voice, it fits the song perfectly. Melody and lyrics are also great, so what else can you ask for? Till the much awaited(I can't stress this enough) new album from Three Days Grace releases, here is a track that features Adam Gontier(lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the Band). Never been a fan of Apocalyptica, but I think I'll check them out after this song(I'm not Jesus). I didn't know Cello can rock..LOL.
Red - Never Be The Same Red is a name that pops up in my head now and again but still takes a backseat to all those other alternative rockers out there. I personally have listened only to a handful of their songs and love a couple of them. This new track is one of those I love- it got great guitar riffs, great lyrics, melody and voice. This makes me look forward to their new album in 3 years.
Papa roach - Lifeline Papa Roach released their new single Lifeline, which I think is a lack luster performance from the band that has delivered so many great tracks. I honestly was a little disappointed with the song and hope there are other tracks in the upcoming album that makes up for this. Anyways you guys hear it and form an opinion.
Flo Rida released a new single Right Round and its been doing the rounds on YouTube. It is apparently a spin-off cover of Dead Or Alive's 'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record). I was familiar with another cover version by Dope that was mis-labelled as Marilyn Manson(lol). That got me into the different covers of the song and was amazed at the number of covers made of this song. Wiki names at least 14 covers of the song and looked up most of them(those are available on YouTube) and made a list of those which I like the most.
Edit:- Flo Rida announced his new album named R.O.O.T.S("Routes of Overcoming the Struggle") to be released on April 7
The Original "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" is a song by Dead or Alive on their 1985 album Youthquake. The track got a UK number-one hit and a top 20 hit in the United States.
Covers that are as good as or some even better than the original Only some covers can achieve something new from the original which is as good as or even better than the original.
Dope Dope is an American nu metal band formed in 1997. The band received some level of success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Dead or Alive song was covered for their debut album "Felons and Revolutionaries". Dope just made the song as a launching pad and made something that, according to me, is even better than the original one. The song is with enough differences to feel like their track but still not deviating too much from the original song.
Flo-Rida Flo Rida, is a two-time Grammy nominated American rapper. Mail on Sunday was Flo Rida's solo debut album; its lead single "Low" was a number-one hit for ten weeks in early 2008. I absolutely loved the whole album, a perfect club hip hop album with everything from great rapping to funky club sounds. The new single "Right Round" is like a spin off cover of the original song. The song has its chorus and beats similar to the original, but the rest is all Flo-Rida and its great.
Jessica Simpson I'm guessing there may not be anyone who don't know the "goog girl" Jessica Simpson. She did a cover of the track too, but with her own lyrics except for the chorus, for her fourth studio album, A Public Affair (2006). Her version reached number twenty on the U.S. Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and number ninety-five on the Billboard Pop 100, although its single release was cancelled. The song is not better than the original. but a perfect modern pop rendition of the song, with addictive beats and seductive vocals.
Gemini Five A cover of the song was recorded by Swedish rock band Gemini Five for their 2003 album Babylon Rockets. Although they may have been inspired by Dope, their rendition of the song is different from both Dope's and the original. The song has a more fast tempo than the dope song and the drums and guitar work is awesome.
Eiffel 65 Eiffel 65 was an Italian eurodance three-piece group, formed in the late 1990s and best known for their international hit "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" and "Move Your Body"(those are the only two tracks I have heard too but I loved them). In 2004, they also covered the album which gave us a dance rendering of the song, which is the best dance version of the song.
Covers which sounded nothing more than an average remix
Thalia Thalía is a Mexican singer and actress with multiple Latin Grammy and Latin Billboard nominations. She is also regarded as a "Latin Pop Diva" and "Queen Of Latin Pop" due to her Spanish songs being successful in crossing a lot of national borders, or so WIKI says. I have not heard any of her tracks till now but I should say she got a pretty good voice. This song probably stands a little higher than an average remix solely because of the beats and Thalia's voice.
Danzel Danzel is a Belgian House, Techno and Dance musician who reached the Top 10 in late 2004 with the single "Pump It Up" which is the only song I've heard of him. In 2007 he did a cover of the Dead or Alive track which is at best a below average remix which is no way near the original song.
Covers which shouldn't have produced
GiGi D'agostino GiGi D'agostino is an Italian DJ, remixer and music producer who has one, at best two, hits to speak for. The cover is not at all worthy of a listen. It sounds like a cheap remix of the original, with some lack luster beats and unnecessary cuts. Those of you who don't believe me be my guest.
Ten Masked Men Ten Masked Men is a British death metal cover band who specialize in covering pop songs, and who should stop doing that. Seriously. May be cause I'm not a fan of Death Metal, at all, I found the song annoying with his growling voice and really bad guitar and drums. Imagine a lion singing the original song, and you'll get halfway there to this cover. Specializing in covering pop songs... and that too a death metal band.. huh.
Another great track though not a cover of the song, but somehow related to it(I can't put my finger on it) is Bodyrockers' Round and Round.
BodyRockers are an electronic music act, consisting of British/Australian duo Dylan Burns (from Canterbury) and Kaz James (from Melbourne). The pair came together in early 2004 after a chance meeting between Dylan and Kaz in Australia. The pair first started with Dylan playing his guitar over Kaz's rocky DJ set. They claimed the chemistry was instant. They are mostly known for their hit song "I Like the Way (You Move)", loosely based on Billy Idol's hit "Mony Mony", released in 2005. The song reached #3 on the UK Singles Chart, and #12 on the Australian ARIAnet singles chart.
I like their brand of dance-rock (If that's a genre). Catchy guitar riffs and DJ beats- whats not to like. Round and Round is terribly addictive and you'll listen to it again and again.
1. All-American Rejects - When The World Comes Down- Release on 16th December, 2008
The All-American Rejects are a rock band, sometimes referred to as AAR, was introduced to the mainstream by their debut self-titled album "The All-American Rejects". The group followed this up with their sophomore album Move Along, which catapulted their status to one of the top pop rock bands, producing three U.S. Hot 100 top twenty hits (two of them reaching the top ten). The band's album Move Along has been certified double Platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA and their self-titled release in 2003 has also been certified Platinum.I loved both of their albums and am looking forward to their new one. Here is a single which is released from the album.
No one should be given an introduction to Eminem, also knows as Slim Shady. The Oscar winner and Grammy winner Rapper, producer and actor is a well known name even in tho non hip hop community. With a legacy of turning up with great record, he announces his new album after a break of almost 5 years. While concrete details about the album are still kept as top secrets, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and T.I. are reported to be among the stars who will be appearing on the album with the Detroit rapper. Eminem is known to be touchy about his singles leaking on the internet. He produced his last album Encore right from scratch cause some tracks from his yet to be released Straight from the Lab was leaked. A single supposedly from his new album Relapse has been doing its rounds on YouTube. It sounds good, and different. Then again that may not be even in the final tracklist. Anyways here is the track.
3. U2 - No Line On The Horizon-Release on early 2009.
U2 are a rock band from Dublin, Ireland. The band consists of Bono (vocals and guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards, and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar) and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums and percussion). U2 have sold more than 140 million albums worldwide[3] and have won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band. I am not a real fan of their music, especially music from their olden days. But their previous album "How to Dismantle an Atom Bomb" was really good and since then they have gotten a place in my "Artists to look out for". "No Line on the Horizon" is the working title which may change by the time the album comes out. Some tracks have leaked on to youtube, which were recorded by a a fan walking along the beach along side the villa from which Bono had played this song a bit too loud. For now there is a cover of "Greg Lakes - I Believe In Father Christmas" U2 recorded for (RED)WIRE and online music magazine to help fighting AIDS in Africa.
4. Rob Thomas - Cradle Songs-Release on early 2009
Rob Thomas was the lead singer and song-writer in the 90s band Matchbox Twenty. Matchbox 20 may officially be a group of the ’90s, but Rob Thomas has been steaming ahead with a successful solo career since his collaboration with Carlos Santana (for “Smooth”) and his last album, 2005’s …Something to Be went platinum. The new album which is tentatively named "Cradle Songs" is about 80% complete according to him. His songs has a catchy melody and exciting beats that makes us like the music right away. No single has been released or leaked yet. In the meantime listen to "Little Wonders", which was released as OST of Meet the Robinsons.
5. Switchfoot - yet to be named and set to release in summer 2009
Switchfoot is an American alternative rock band comprising of Jon Foreman (vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass guitar, backing vocals), Chad Butler (drums, percussion), Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), and Drew Shirley (guitar). Switchfoot was introduced to limelight by the inclusion of a couple of their songs in the soundtrack of the movie "A Walk to Remember".This recognition led to their major label debut, The Beautiful Letdown, which was released in 2003. It went on to sell over 2.6 million copies and produced the band's best-known singles, "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move". They followed up with their sophomore album "Oh! Gravity" which were much applauded by the critics as well as fans. I loved both their albums and love their sound. The have announced a new album to be released in spring, 2009. They have over 40 tracks now recorded and even released the names of the tracks, which may or may not make it into the album. They recorded and released a song "This is Home" for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian which is included in the soundtrack too.
They recently brought out their first compilation album, "The Best Yet" which include 18 of their best songs and it can be bought over at Amazon.. I can't recommend this enough. Except two or three songs I haven't heard or don't remember, all the tracks are amazing and will make you like the band instantly. 6. 50 Cent - Before I self Destruct-Release on February 3, 2009
Curtis James Jackson III, better known by his stage name 50 Cent, needs no introduction to anyone who has been around long enough on the Hip Hop scene. He rose to fame with his debut album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and his sophomore album "Massacre" both of which achieved platinum status. I loved both of those albums, Massacre being my favorite among them. His third album "Curtis" was nowhere near his first two but still had a couple of good tracks. I'm no fan of his, but don't dislike him either. His new single is hot and that made me look forward to his new album.

The Black Eyed Peas are an American hip hop group from Los Angeles comprised of will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie. Since its breakout album Elephunk in 2003, the group's pop/dance-oriented style of hip hop music has sold an estimated twenty-seven million albums and singles worldwide. I loved every song brought out by them and am a big fan of theirs. So I can't wait for their new album. No single is released yet. Micheal Jackson, the King of Pop, is all set to make a comeback into the music arena with his new album, 7even(working title). I am not a fan of Micheal Jackson, though i love some of his tracks. But I know a lot of his fans worldwide will be thrilled to hear about a new album in the making. Some big names like Kanye West, Will.i.am, and Ne-yo are said to be collaborating with him on his new outing. I have to say, seeing the list of featured artist, I like the direction he is going. I may well like the album after all. No singles released and no date too. One track that featured Micheal Jackson was leaked and subsequently dropped from the new Akon album Freedom. Akon has said that they will be working together again. Apparently Micheal is very serious about making a comeback. Lets wait and see. Till then here is the leaked track. 8. Flipsyde - Title not finalized-Release on 2009
Flipsyde is a rap/R&B/rock band consisting of band members Steve Knight, Dave Lopez, Jinho "the Piper" Ferreira, and recently Chantelle Paige. Flipsyde traversed a whole range of genres across their debut album in 2005. Their single off the first album "Someday" was chosen as NBC's anthem for 2006 Winter Olympic Games. Their "Champion" has yet again be chosen as the anthem for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. Their debut album was widely applauded by critics and "Washington Post" even named the album as the best Hip Hop album of the year. They recently released their single off the album "Toss it up feat. Akon".
9. Lil Jon - Crunk Rock- Release on "Only God knows"
Crunk Rock is the solo debut album by Atlanta based producer Lil Jon, originally scheduled for release in mid-2006, rescheduled for the end of 2007, then "sometime" in 2008. Now even that is almost over and no word from Lil Jon. He may even change the title, he says. He has released a couple of singles from the album and some of them has gone to become hits. But the point of releasing a single is that people get excited about an album. Releasing an album after everybody has forgotten about the single..well that's not very smart is it?. I am not sure whether to look forward to the album or just forget about the artist all together. Anyways one of the singles that I think is any worth is Snap Yo Fingers.
. I can't recommend this enough. Except two or three songs I haven't heard or don't remember, all the tracks are amazing and will make you like the band instantly.
